The Women Equity program support the developpement and promote the success of the most promising European Women led growth companies

Context: Filling the gaps of female contribution to European economies

  • In Europe, women benefit from a high level of education, representing the majority of holders of master level diplomas
  • Multiple researches conducted in Europe and in the US prove that companies with significant proportion of females at key decision positions outperform on multiple criteria
  • Rising numbers in women managers in France and Europe trigger a growing potential for female entrepreneurship, as both are correlated in developed countries
  • Independent women-led companies with over € 4 m of revenues exceed 5,000 in France only
  • Although the number of women-led businesses is sufficient to constitute an attractive investment universe, these companies have attracted limited attention from the Private Equity industry so far in Europe
  • GDP positive impacts of an improved female contribution to the economy have been repeatedly established, based on the following facts and projections
  • Increased numbers of female CEOs / exec directors contribute to enhance female position and remuneration in organizations, thus reducing salary gaps
  • Better funding of women-led growth companies generates higher revenues and more jobs

Addressing the issue: The Women Equity Program, focusing on the financial and operational support of w-led growth businesses

This program, first of its kind, has been launched end 2009 by WEG, to support the development of the most promising women-led growth SMEs in Europe and to promote their success & models.
